Gems & Jewellery Training Manufacturing Centre, GJTMC Quetta has started its journey from January 27, 2011.
GJTMC Quetta has been established for the development of the Gem and Jewellery industry of the country from mine to the market. GJTMC Quetta is equipped with advance lapidary machinery imported from Germany and Japan and latest Gemological equipments from Germany for the identification of natural and synthetic gemstones as well as gemstones enhancement.
Besides semi-precious gemstone mines in Baluchistan large quantities of rough gemstones such as Lapis Lazuli, Emerald, Rubies, Tourmaline, Aquamarine, Spinel, Garnet and Turquoise etc., enter Baluchistan from neighboring countries (Afghanistan and Iran). It was crucial that for the development of a strong lapidary system in Baluchistan to encourage processing of all material that transit through Baluchistan.
Gemstone cutting and carving techniques are introduced by using latest lapidary machines to meet international standards. We are conducting skill development training programs on Gemstone Identification, Gemstone Grading and Merchandizing. Diamond Grading and Pricing, Gemstone Cutting, Gemstone Carving, Manual Jewellery Design, Gemstone Import & Export Procedures/Policies and Gemstone mining etc. We have planed a number of ambitious trainings in Gems and Jewellery in the near future. Ground work for most of which has already been initiated.
The objective of these trainings on latest machinery especially on gemstone faceting and carving is to provide participants with knowledge and skills required developing business locally and internationally.
Infrastructure:
GJTMC, Quetta is housed on the first floor of Malik Plaza M.A Jinah Road, Quetta. The Centre is equipped with latest heavy commercials use & Lapidary Machines, latest Gemological tools in the Gem Labs and cutting plus carving machines for the trainees.
