The Honorable President of Pakistan Mr. Asif Ali Zardari inaugurated the Gems & Jewellery Training and Manufacturing Centre (GJTMC) Karachi on 17th May 2010. Important dignitaries including Governor Sindh Mr. Ishrat ul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Mr. Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Mr. Hazar Khan Bijarani, Federal Secretary Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Soomro and other Federal Ministers attended the Event.
The Honorable President encouraged the Gem & Jewellery industry of Pakistan and appreciated the efforts that PGJDC is putting in for its development. The President called for more hard work and dedication and urged the traders and businessmen to come forward and take maximum initiative for the development of the industry and Pakistan.

Message from The Principal:
GJTMC, Karachi is all geared to provide in depth knowledge in designing and manufacturing of jewelry to its pupils, training them in the spheres of diamond grading, gemstone identification, Gemstone Faceting, Gemstone carving, Manual jewellery designing, computer aided designing (Jewel CAD & Matrix), jewellery pattern making in wax.
Notwithstanding, apart from the above-mentioned courses, GJTMC Karachi has diversified its line of courses in jewellery manufacturing by introducing training programs of Patwa and Soumak, which run in parallel to the traditional casting, stone setting and bench-work courses, to well round its pupils in jewellery craft. The training program initiated lays considerable emphasis on the hands on tasks to improve dexterity in students. Moreover, applied courses in the fields of jewellery designing and manufacturing such as applied jewellery design - a combination of manual and computer based jewellery designing coupled with practical training in rapid prototyping are also being offered to enhance capabilities of our students.
GJTMC Karachi staunchly believes that its pupils must prove their mettle once they have been imparted knowledge and skill. It is for this reason, that is to test and to further hone their abilities, GJTMC Karachi periodically arranges contests in designing which invariably results in highlighting our students in Gems and Jewellery market both nationally as well as internationally. Of late, GJTMC Karachi has announced exhilarating episodes of Computer Aided Designing Competition, titled "Inspirational designs - enviable jewellery". All designs developed during this competition, especially the winning models shall be displayed on the web portal of M/s Gem Vision Inc, USA, leading jewellery designing software house. This contest is a practical manifestation of a concept based on value chain productivity starting from mine to the showcase, propounded GJTMC Karachi.
In addition to mastering all tasks related with precious metals and gemstone, business acumen stand supreme in running a successful Jewellery enterprise. It is therefore all the more important to train our pupils in the areas of time and cost management. To cater for the same, GJTMC Karachi is also conducting Time & Cost Management course besides its mainstream courses.

It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipments which are at par with international standards.

Gem Testing Laboratory:
Apart from its training pursuits, GJTMC, Karachi, in order to promote awareness and scientific trends in the local Gems and Jewellery market is also offering gem testing services to local gems and jewellery sector at a very nominal fee amounting to Rs. 50/- for a normal testing and Rs.350/- for a detailed test.
Rapid Prototyping (CAM):
Rapid prototyping is the most highly acclaimed service in the Gems and Jewellery market provided by CAD/CAM section of GJTMC, Karachi. Using Matrix 6.0 software and the most precise RP (rapid prototyping) machine, the CAD CAM section of Karachi GJTMC has taken the jewellery industry by storm.
