Message from the Principal

 Syed Muhammad Zafar-ul-Iman

For the last one year, since the inception of GJTMC at Karachi, this has been an honor for me to serve the Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company as principal of the institute. The company entrusted me and held me responsible to fulfill their dreams of establishing a center of international standard at the stage when the present building had yet to be converted to a proper institute and academic programs were still to be planned. With the Grace of Almighty ALLAH and the guidance of PGJDC Management, within a very short span of only one year the efforts of my dedicated team yielded fruit and we succeeded in achieving our objectives.
During the first year of the establishment of the centre, a common commercial building acquired a shape of a proper educational institute of international standards, eight training Programs were launched , 450 students were awarded certificates and modern laboratories for Diamond grading, Gems Identification, Stone faceting, Stone Carving, Jewellery Pattern in Wax, Jewel Cad and Matrix was developed.
Efforts for further progress and up gradation of the institute is continuously going on. Now it has been planned to initiate diploma courses along with the certificate programs, therefore, preparations for introduction of Diploma Course in Jewellery Manufacturing and designing in the next session are at final stage.
It is expected that the journey of trust, cooperation, guidance, teamwork and successes which started a year ago will continue with the same zeal and zest in the future as well. At the successful completion of one year of the institute, I feel my moral duty to pay regards and thank to all of my seniors and colleagues for the guidance and cooperation offered by them in every respect.
