PGJDC organized a 2 weeks training course on Gem Identification at Karachi.

Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) arranged a two weeks training program on 'Gemstone Identification' at its Gems & Jewellery Training and Manufacturing Centre (GJTMC) in Karachi.

The program started from 16th December 2009. Twelve individuals participated in this course.

The participants of this course were exposed to the basic concepts of gemstone identification and were introduced to latest methods and techniques in identifying gemstones. The participants were also be exposed to latest technology including modern equipments installed at the GJTMC in order to provide hands on experience to the participants

This purpose of this training program was to equip the Gems & Jewellery sector of Pakistan with skills and knowledge of gemstones and the processes and methods involved in their proper identification.

PGJDC has been regularly organizing this course at its various GJTMCs at Karachi, Lahore and Gilgit and also at its Gem Exchanges at Peshawar and Quetta.
