Karachi, June 2: Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) has organized four training courses for Gems and Jewellery sector at its Gems and Jewellery Training & Manufacturing Centre (GJTMC), in Karachi. The four courses that begin today at GJTMC include Diamond Grading Course, Computer Aided Jewellery Designing Course Course on Jewellery Pattern making in Wax and Manual Jewellery Designing Course.
Diamond Grading training course which is being conducted by Mr. Mansoor Usman a Graduate Gemologist (Gemological Institute of America) California, USA, and will continue for two weeks. In this training workshop the participants would learn the techniques of grading diamonds colour, clarity and cut wise. The participants would also learn the techniques of diamond appraisement and value assessment.
Computer Aided Jewellery Designing Course would continue for four weeks. Mr. Malik Farhan Hussain a graduate Mechatronics from UET Lahore is conducting this course.
This Computer Aided Jewellery Designing Course would share what is involved in the process of designing from beginning a job to working with database, creating 2d designs, creating 3D objects from 2D objects, creating loops for pendants, creating rings, completing the menus and different trips and tricks.
Jewellery Pattern making in Wax course is being conducted by Mr. Tauseef Ahmed, Jewellery Designer, Computer Studies NCC-UK. Wax Carving Course has been introduced for the first time in Pakistan. It is one of the most useful techniques of jewellery manufacturing. In this course the participants will be explained how to make jewellery in wax through various methods and techniques. Wax Carving is a useful technique and knowledge that enables jewellery making which are either difficult or impossible to be manufactured directly from metal.
Speaking on the occasion CEO PGJDC Fawad H. Khan said that we take pride in launching four different training courses at one place simultaneously. He said that we have arranging such trainings for the development of the sector so that it could play its role in increasing the Jewellery exports from Pakistan.
He said that PGJDC is committed to create sound base for the Gems and Jewellery sector of Pakistan by conducting different training courses to create awareness about latest gems and jewellery trends and technology being used by the international markets.
