America’s Gem Festival of the year “The Tucson International Gem Show” began 54 years ago as a class room exhibition of gems and minerals designed for the public by a geology professor at the Arizona State University USA. Today it has grown to become the world’s largest gem-jewellery-mineral-fossil show.
Every New Year season (January-February) the desert city of Tucson begins to dazzle with myriad of colors as thousands of exhibitors and dealers from across the world display their glittering precious Gems, Jewelry and Mineral Specimen. Tucson is not a single event it actually comprises of nearly 40 Gem, Jewelry, Mineral and fossil shows and each show is organized by different company. It’s probably the biggest Gems and mineral “Convention” in the world. Exhibitors from the United States, Europe & Asia dominate the show. Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Myanmar, Pakistan, China and Japan are at different locations at the major shows.
More than 50,000 buyers, all over the world, many of them from the USA, Europe and Japan attend Tucson gem and jewellery festival. Visitors find travelling easier with an excellent shuttle bus service connecting the shows.
One of the shows is Worldwide Gem and Jewelry from February 6 – February 11, 2008 at The Hotel Arizona, which will feature exhibitors from around the world, exhibiting rough/finished gemstones, mineral specimens, jewelry, gem carvings and lapidary equipments and packaging.
Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company is participating in this event to explore the possibilities for future participation. The reason for participating in this particular show is that this is the show which will exhibit finished gemstones, jewellery, gem carvings and/or related lapidary equipment and packaging. |
