Mineralientage Munchen (The Munich Mineral Show) is Europe's largest mineral trade show and international meeting point for collectors, dealers and exhibitors worldwide. For 46 years, the show has been attracting glittering treasures of the world - from the most fascinating precious stones to the largest gold find in the Alps. Around 40,000 visitors arrive in Munich annually to attend the show.

Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) for the first time visited Munich Mineral Show in 2009. The show started from October 30 and continued till November 1, 2009. Continuing with the tradition, PGJDC organized a Pakistan pavilion in Munich Mineral Show under the brand name “Gems & Jewellery - Pakistan.”

PGJDC took representatives of 13 gems and jewellery companies from Pakistan in the Munich Mineral Show. These exhibitors were selected from all over Pakistan and decorated the Pakistan pavilion with specialized gemstones and mineral specimen from different regions of the country. The exhibiting companies gained the experience of making business linkages and insightful observation of unique European markets.

Apart from the exhibition companies, also travelling along was a Pakistani delegation of 7 members. Pakistani delegation attended the seminars and meetings which were conducted at the exhibition site. Pakistan pavilion in the Munich Mineral Show was inaugurated by Dr. Pantelis Christian Poetis, who is an Honorary Counsel for Pakistan in Munich.

The first visit to any international gems and jewellery exhibition is crucial to the trade. Visit to Munich Mineral Show holds greater significance as for the first time, through the platform of PGJDC, exhibitors and delegates visited Europe.
