Pakistani Gems and Jewellery sector started participating in this show from 2005 with the collaboration of PIDC, SMEDA and USAID. After development of Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC), the sector participated in BGJF with the collaboration of PGJDC. PGDJC has set up Pakistan Pavilion in which the Company has set up six counters displaying gems and jewellery products from Pakistan.
In each of the participations the objective is to enhance business opportunities for Pakistani gems and jewellery traders and entrepreneurs in the international markets in general and the Far Eastern market in particular, eventually increasing exports from Pakistan.

| Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair: |

| Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) participated in Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair in Wan Chai, Hong Kong from 23rd to 27th September 2009. PGJDC participated in the said exhibition for the first time and aims to continue its participation in coming future. Continuing with the tradition, PGJDC had organized a Pakistan pavilion in Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. Around seven companies will be given a chance to exhibit under Pakistan pavilion and display their products.

Dubai is a fast growing market and is a land which is of interest to both the eastern and the western world. Lots of traders are attracted to it because of easy customs rules and low duty structure. Today Dubai stands out as a hub for trade of all kind.
Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company has been participating in the mentioned show since 2007 and has till now established numerous business linkages in foreign market of Middle East.

Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) participated in the ICA Gem Show 2008, held in Dubai on October 13-15 2008, organized by the International Colored Gemstones Association (ICA). PGJDC is also an Associate Member of the ICA.
International Gem Show 2008 was organized for the first time by ICA in collaboration with the Gems Club – Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), Dubai. PGJDC had displayed a rich variety of gemstones from Pakistan. Traders from Thailand, Sri Lanka and China took keen interest in the Pakistani gemstones displayed by PGJDC. Participation in this show proved to be a success in terms of establishing B2B contacts and also making ICA, DMCC and other international gemstones associations aware of PGJDC’s mandate and mission for the development of the Gems and Jewellery sector of Pakistan.
The Company’s participation in such a high profile exhibition, where an opportunity to create awareness of the developments of the Gems & Jewellery industry of Pakistan was availed to the optimum, will prove to be a great investment for the Gemstone sector of Pakistan.

| Gem Mineral and Fossil Showcase, Tucson: |

The gem, mineral and fossil show at Tucson, Arizona USA is one of the biggest shows of its kind in the world. The Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil showcase is 54 year old but gem, minerals and other exotic goods have been carried across the Southwest for more than 2000 years. The exhibition is expanding each year. The entire city of Tucson enthusiastically awaits more than 50,000 buyers and sellers to the dazzling annual event.
PGJDC participated in the said show for the first time in January/February 2008 in order to provide a better exposure to the stakeholder of gems and jewellery industry of Pakistan in United States.

| Pakistan has been attending Indian International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Mumbai from the last 3 years as a delegation. Participation in IIJS provides lot to learn from Indian experience. The members of our delegation visit manufacturing centers, study their craftsmanship, interacted with traders and visited academia. The linkages are developed, fruitful meetings were held with high level representatives of World Gold Council, Chairman and Board members of GJEPC.

| PGJDC has also been taking delegations to IIJS Goa as well. So far the company has arranged delegations for IIJS Goa in 2008. Such visits prove to be lucrative in terms of contacts developed and strengthened. The area for technological up gradation and skilled development in gems and jewellery sector are explored. The visit also provides the delegates an opportunity to identify and develop investment opportunities on bilateral level. It helps in identifying and evaluating sources in areas of equipment and machinery, precious / semi precious gems and jewellery.
